７回目となる「外国人研究者によるグローバルセミナー」は、京大大学院医学研究科 国際保健・社会疫学講座からイラン出身の医師 Omid Dadras氏をお招きし、グローバルヘルスをどうとらえるか、また統計を用いてグローバルヘルスに関する諸問題についてお話しして頂きました。
また、イランの国立大学医学部を卒業後、国からの命令で辺境地のヘルスケアのためにBaluchista州（パキスタンと隣接）派遣されていた時、テロリストによって３日間誘拐・監禁されたエピソードを語られ、危険と隣り合わせで任務にあたる前線のヘルスケア従事者の存在を学ぶ機会となりました。
最後に、イランの首都テヘランの環境、特に大気汚染について、生徒の質問に答える形でお話しされました。

The 7th Global Seminar by A Foreign Researcher Is Held

On June 14th the school invited a rising researcher from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Omid Dadras from the Department of Global Health and Socio-epidemiology, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University and held the seventh Global Seminar.
He told students what they should think of global health and explained various challenges in global health, showing statistics. Also, he told them he was abducted and confined by a terrorist group for three days while working as a health care worker under the orders of the national government in a very remote area in the Baluchista Province on the Iranian-Pakistani border after graduating a national medical school of the country. This seminar gave students an opportunity to realize there are places in the world where health care workers in the front line are working next to constant danger on a daily basis.
At the end of the seminar, he mentioned environmental conditions of the capital city Teheran, especially air pollution of the city when answering a question from a student.
