「スタンフォード大学国際異文化教育プログラムによる高槻高等学校グローバルヘルスオンライン講座（The SPICE/Stanford e-Course on Global Health for Takatsuki Senior High School）」が開講しました。これは、本校とスタンフォード大学国際異文化教育プログラム（Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE)）が共同で開発し、提供するインターネットによるオンライン講座で、同大学フリーマン・スポグリ国際研究所（FSI）および同大学医学部に所属する研究者の先駆的な国際的取り組み事例に焦点をあて本校生にグローバルヘルスの重要性を概観する機会を提供するものです。
GAコースでは、グローバルヘルスの意義について深い認識を持った次世代グローバルリーダーの育成を目指しており、海外の第一級のグローバルヘルス研究者によるオンライン講義は本校生にとって大きな刺激とやりがいをもたらすと考えています。
高１生24名・高２生8名の計32名が本講座の受講生として認められました。 本年９月から来年２月までの間にインターネット回線を通して計８回のライブでのバーチャルクラス（すべて英語）が予定されており、受講生は「e-ラーニング」という新たなスタイルの教育プログラムを体験することになります。本講座の全課程を修了した生徒には、スタンフォード大学国際異文化教育プログラムから「コース修了証書」が授与されます。
第１回バーチャルクラスでは、本講座担当のSabrina Ishimatsu講師、SPICEディレクターGary Mukai博士、学校側の講座責任者工藤教頭による開講のあいさつに続き、受講生全員の自己紹介、担当講師による本講座のガイダンス（シラバスの説明）、Q&Aが行われました。Gary先生からはスタンフォード大学についての短い大学紹介もありました。
An e-Course by SPICE/Stanford Is Launched

The school had a kickoff session for the SPICE/Stanford e-Course on Global Health for Takatsuki Senior High School. It is an online course that is jointly developed and offered by the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education(SPICE) at Stanford University and Takatsuki Senior High School. The course will provide students with a broad overview of the importance of global health with a special focus on some pioneering examples of international work conducted by researchers of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University and Stanford University School of Medicine.
As Takatsuki’s Global Advanced Course makes its primary aim to nurture future global leaders who have a profound awareness of the significance of global health, a series of online lectures by leading global health researchers will bring students a large academic stimulus and a sense of achievement.
32 students (24 of the 1st-year and 8 of the 2nd-year students) are admitted to this course and they will participate in eight 60-minute “virtual classes” in English via the Internet from September 2015 to February 2016. They will also experience a new type of education “e-learning.” Students, who successfully complete the course, will receive a Certificate of Completion from SPICE, Stanford University.
In the 1st Virtual Class, there were brief opening addresses by the course instructor Ms. Sabrina Ishimatsu, the director of SPICE Dr. Gary Mukai, and Takatsuki’s vice principal Mr. Tsuyoshi Kudo, followed by the self-introductions of all the students, a general guidance on the e-Course syllabus by the course instructor, and a brief Q & A session. Dr. Gary Mukai also briefly introduced Stanford University to the participants.
