第６回のグローバルセミナーは、京大大学院医学研究科 国際保健・社会疫学講座からアフリカ・スワジランド出身の看護師 Bhekumusa Wellington Lukhele氏をお招きして、スワジランドの地理や歴史、現地の言葉（スワジ語）なども交えた文化の紹介、そしてスワジランド国内で非常に深刻な問題であるエイズについてお話していただきました。
生徒たちはエイズについて保健や生物の授業で知識として学んでいますが、実際にスライドで見ながらの臨場感は大きいものでした。スワジランド国内でのエイズを取り巻く実情や、エイズに対するアプローチとしてFacebookや携帯電話のアプリを用いたアナウンスが効果を上げつつあることを知り、生徒は深く感じ入った様子でした。質疑応答では発表された内容や、包括的なリーダーシップのとり方などの質問がなされていました。

The 6th Global Seminar by A Foreign Researcher Is Held

On June 23rd the school invited a young researcher from Swaziland, Mr. Bhekumusa Wellington Lukhele from the Department of Global Health and Socio-epidemiology, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University and held the sixth Global Seminar. He introduced his country’s geography, history and culture, and talked about AIDS in Swaziland, one of the most serious problems in his country. Students at Takatsuki are familiar with the disease in the classrooms of P.E. and biology, but the reality shown by many actual slides had a strong impact on them. The students showed interest in circumstances surrounding AIDS in Swaziland such as the fact that anti-AIDS campaigns using Facebook and mobile phone apps are beginning to have visible effects. In the question-and-answer session, students asked several questions such as solutions to the AIDS problem and how to take a comprehensive leadership.
